The practice of Orthopaedic surgery involves treating injuries, sprains, fractures, dislocations, wear and tear medical management of the spine, as well as upper and lower extremities.
This care can consist of a wide spectrum of activities ranging from simple stretch and strengthening programs with and without medications, to surgical intervention to repair or replace injured bones, joints, tendons, muscle tears, ligaments. Usually , physical therapy and rehabilitation is also necessary for more serious problems.
The length of time of recovery varies and depends on what body part is injured or replaced. Some injuries require daily activity changes, and life long follow up care.
We specialize in treating occupational injuries, with the intention of returning the injured worker back to the job as soon as possible, with follow up care, as well as the administrative tasks of assisting the worker in returning to his previous occupation, if recovery is successful. If the injury is permanent, and disability results, we also determine the degree of disability, in order for the worker to seek other areas of employment which may modify job requirements.
